Mr. Davis' litigation practice is concentrated in the representation of contractors and real estate developers, in both the residential and commercial settings. His litigation practice focuses primarily on construction litigation, condominium warranty litigation, mechanic's lien actions, Miller Act claims (both federal and state), insurance litigation, surety litigation and real estate disputes. Mr. Davis also has an active transactional construction contracts practice, and chairs the firm's construction contracts practice group. One of his most noteworthy cases was Wankel, et al. v. A&B Contractors, Inc., et al., 127 Md.App. 128, 732 A.2d 333 (1999), cert. denied, 356 Md. 496 (1999), in which Mr. Davis obtained summary judgment on behalf of a national homebuilder against claims arising from a natural gas explosion that destroyed a residence and damaged surrounding properties. In another recent case, Fosler v. Panoramic Design, Ltd., 376 Md. 118, 829 A.2d 271 (2003), Mr. Davis successfully litigated the issue of the primary jurisdiction of the Maryland Home Improvement Commission to determine whether a construction manager was performing a home improvement within the meaning of the Maryland Home Improvement statute.
